Award-winning songwriter Guy Chambers is about to re-release his Lemon Tree album originally recorded 30 years ago, and he's recently opened up as to why it was important to him to reform the band.

'Burst the Bubble' will be released on 12th April, and will include classic Lemon Trees songs 30 years after their original composition.

Explaining in a video shared on social media, why he wanted to re-release the songs, Guy said: "You might be asking, why bring the band back together after 30 years? And the reason is, I wanted to make the album better than the first one, because I wasn't happy with the first album. And I also wanted people to hear the songs fresh for now."

Guy has already released 'I Can't Face the World', the first song from the upcoming album, and said of the track: "It's essentially a reflection of a nihilistic perspective on life, tinged with anxiety and depression. I was around 28 when I penned it, grappling with feelings of loneliness and a bleak worldview."

According to the band, 'Burst The Bubble' isn't a remaster, or a 'best of', it's a 'new Lemon Trees record featuring old Lemon Trees songs, sung by David and played by him, Guy, Paul, and Jeremy.'

The Lemon Trees formed in 1992, and released their debut album, 'Open Book' on 15th March 1993, featuring five charting singles.

The band then split in 1995 after their second album was never released, but all four members have continued to be friends and work and play together when they can. Speaking about their upcoming album, Guy said: "It is a record born of innocence and now, at last, made of experience. Songs of love and loss, elation and despair. Timeless songs for the good times and the bad times, and the good times that come again."

Guy Chambers is one of the UK's most successful living songwriters, and has written many huge hits, including Robbie Williams classics like 'Angels', 'Let Me Entertain You', 'Rock DJ', 'Feel', 'No Regrets', and 'Millennium', he's also worked with James Blunt, Kylie Minogue, and Beverley Knight.
