The brand spanking new series of Dancing On Ice with hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield hit our TV screens last (Sunday 6th January), and what a launch show it was!

As well as a number of AMAZING group performances from the professional skaters, Didi Conn wore her actual Pink Ladies jacket from Grease, Gemma Collins attempted the splits, and James Jordan topped the leader board with a seriously impressive performance for Week One.

Following James' performance, where he showed off his impressive dancing skills mixed with a number of new ice skating tricks, the former Strictly Come Dancing star received an impressive score of 30.5, one of the highest ever first week scores in Dancing On Ice history!

But despite his amazing performance, some viewers at home were quick to call the show a 'fix' for hiring a professional dancer to take part.

One wrote, 'James Jordan was incredible but seriously how ridiculously unfair is it having him on this?!? It’s week one and you literally couldn’t tell who the professional was?! 🤦🏻‍♀️ #DancingOnIce'. sic

Another wrote, 'Give the prize already to James Jordan don’t bother wasting your money voting please we know who will win #DancingOnIce'. sic

The comments didn't end there, another added, 'Hope James leaves soon. Unfair advantage being a dancer. May not have been a skater but knows how to hold his lines in body. #DancingOnIce', with another adding, 'He’s already a professional dancer so shouldn’t be to hard to transfer his skills on to ice.'

Despite the comments, others were loving James and Alexandra Schauman's performance, and were quick to defend the pair.

One added, 'James I'm absolutely stunned for a guy who could barely stand on the Ice at one point to that performance was mind blowing. I loved the Strictly elements. Stunning Choreography Alex, I'm so proud of you both Massive potential here xxxx'. sic

Another then wrote, 'So fabulous to watch I had to rewind and to those who say he has an advantage, no not on the ice that’s hours of practice on a new skill'. sic

Meanwhile, in other Dancing On Ice news, after the first six celebrities performed, it was Neighbours star Mark Little and his professional partner Brianne Delcourt who found themselves bottom of the leader board with a score of 13.5.

Following the public votes, Holly and Phillip announced that Mark and Brianne are the first couple in next week's skate-off. Mark will be up against the celebrity who receives the lowest votes during next week's show.

Dancing On Ice continues every Sunday at 6pm.
