EastEnders viewers were pre-occupied during an episode earlier this week, when they spotted a major blunder during an otherwise harrowing scene.

Jean Slater is in the Minute Mart suffering the affects of a prescription drug overdose given to her by Kush Kazemi and Shirley Carter, but viewers were distracted from the action on screen by the stock on the corner shop’s shelves.

Kush gives Jean an accidental overdose

Eagle-eyed viewers spotted that the Minute Mart was selling Tesco own brand chocolates, which presumably the supermarket giant wouldn’t be best pleased about, and one fan was even able to identify the chocolate in question.

Taking to Twitter to share their confusion, one fan wrote, 'Why is Minute Mart selling Tesco Mint thins? #EastEnders', while another referenced the supermarket’s well known slogan, saying, 'Omg 😂🙄 #EastEnders #EveryLittleHelps'. (sic)

Another wrote, @bbceastenders has @Tesco bought the minute mart now? Hope Jeans got her club card? #EastEnders' (Sic)

The scenes were the culmination of week’s worth of tension in Walford with Kush and Shirley worried Jean had no longer been taking her bipolar medication following the death of her partner Daniel Cook.

In an effort to help Jean, Kush and Shirley put extra medication into her tea, but the plan backfired when Jean overdosed and had a seizure.
