Applications for series 2 of Gladiators are now OPEN
Contenders, ready?!
TV lovers were thrilled back in 2023 when BBC bosses confirmed they had plans to reboot popular 90s game show Gladiators, which last aired way back in 2000. After the series was filmed at the Utilita Arena Sheffield in early June last year, new hosts Bradley and Barney Walsh kicked off the show on Saturday 13th January, with the final of the series set to air on Saturday 30th March!
Ahead of the final, BBC bosses confirmed the show has been renewed for a second series, with applications opening on Thursday 28th March 2024! Find out how to apply to be on Gladiators below.
How do I apply for Gladiators?
Applications for series two are now open, with applicants over the age of 18 being urged to apply online.
The 2024 application form states: 'Gladiators, one of the most exciting and energetic sports entertainment game shows ever is back for a second series.
'We are on the look out for the bravest members of the British public who have the speed and skill to take on our superhuman Gladiators.
'If you believe you have what it takes, then apply via the link below'.

News first broke that Gladiators would be returning to TV in 2022, with Dan Baldwin, Managing Director of Hungry Bear Media, saying: “It’s the perfect time for Gladiators to return.
“What other show combines electric excitement, superheroes, giant sponge fingers, elite athletes, and a pinch of pantomime? Watch out for the new breed of superhuman, supersized, superstars bursting on to your screens on BBC One and iPlayer.”
The new series, which comes to an end on Saturday 30th March, was made up of 11 episodes featuring both classic challenges, as well as a whole host of new games and 16 brand new Gladiators.
The show has been a huge success with fans, with the series averaging 8.3 million viewers to date, and the opening episode being watched by 9.8 million.
After a number of rumours about a second series, on Thursday 28th March, bosses confirmed the show would be back in 2025, with filming due to take place at Sheffield's Utilita Arena later this year.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC said: “Gladiators has really kicked this year off with a bang, and we’re so delighted that the fans have come to the show in their masses. It has been wonderful to hear how much families have loved watching this together, as part of the BBC’s Saturday evening entertainment offering. We can’t wait for more action from the Gladiators.”
Dan Baldwin, Managing Director Hungry Bear Media added: “It’s no exaggeration to say that the response to Gladiators has been phenomenal. The episodes have been packed with nail-biting drama, thrilling action and huge emotion. Series 2 will see the show go from strength-to-strength. We have some amazing surprises in store for the fans.
