A teenager has died following a crash in Basildon

A man has died after a collision yesterday (Saturday).
Officers attempted to stop a white Citroen Berlingo van at around 2.30am.
It failed to stop and a short time later the vehicle was in collision with a wall in Pound Lane, Bowers Gifford.
A 17-year-old man died at the scene. Three further people were taken to hospital.
An 18-year-old woman, a 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
The road was closed in both directions between Page Road and Windsor Road but has now reopened.
