Fifth person arrested after Southend stabbing

Officers in Southend have arrested a fifth person after a serious stabbing in Southend on Monday (April 29th).

A 19 year-old woman was found with multiple, potentially life-changing injuries, at St Marys Court, Victoria Avenue just before 4am on Monday.

Three men and a woman were arrested a short time later on suspicion of GBH with intent and have since been released on bail.

Yesterday morning officers arrested a 16 year-old boy from Southend on suspicion of attempted murder.

He has since been released on bail until 18 July.

Enquiries remain ongoing and police are continuing to appeal forinformation.
