Flood alert issued in Stratford St Mary and Dedham

Minor flooding to low-lying land, roads and riverside areas is "likely" this afternoon and evening

A flood alert has been issued in Stratford St Mary and Dedham by the Environment Agency.

It is in force for the River Stour, from Sudbury to Stratford St Mary and Dedham.

There could be flooding in places including Henny Street, Lamarsh, Bures, Nayland and Stratford St Mary.

The Environment Agency is warning people to "be prepared", as some minor flooding to low-lying land, roads and riverside areas is "likely" this afternoon and into this evening (14 January).

River levels are said to be "high and expected to continue to rise in response to the rainfall".

The most affected areas are Sky Hall Hill Road, Wick Road and Lower Farm Road around Boxted Mill.
