A man has been jailed for six years after a series of assaults in Haverhill.

35 year old Daniel Jackson, of Warren Court, admitted to his involvement in a brawl outside a The Suffolk Punch pub in the town in April 2019.

He left a woman with a broken nose during the attack and also slashed one of her relatives with a kitchen knife.

He also admitted to attacking another woman in September 2020 leaving her with head wounds.

He was sentenced to 44 months behind bars for grievous body harm and 12 months in prison for actual bodily harm, with both sentences to run consecutively.

Det Sgt Glenn Toms, of Suffolk Police, said:

“Daniel Jackson is a well-known and violent offender in the Haverhill area so it is extremely satisfying to see him behind bars for a significant period of time.

"Fortunately, the physical injuries have healed over time for all of Jackson’s victims, but the mental scars and trauma as a consequence of the aggression shown by him will remain with them for a considerable time to come.”
