Man arrested after attempted murder investigation launched in Basildon
Essex Police arrested a 42-year-old man yesterday
Detectives in Basildon have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was seriously assaulted on Saturday (May 4th).
Essex Police were called to a location outside Vange Riverview Centre just before 6pm, where a man was found with a head injury.
He remains in hospital in a critical condition.
An investigation's ongoing and an appeal for witnesses and information's underway.
Yesterday (May 8th), officers arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody.
“We are continuing our enquiries and a scene remains in place in the area.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area on Saturday evening to contact us. If you were driving close to the area and may have any dashcam footage or if you witnessed anything suspicious, please contact us.
“I appreciate that this news is concerning to residents, but we believe this to be an isolated incident.”
