Appeal launched after man seriously injured during Basildon pub attack

Essex Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in a pub in Basildon over the weekend.

On Saturday evening (January 27), at around 6:40pm, paramedics called the force to The Jolly Friar pub in Whitmore Way, where they were treated a man who was seriously injured.

The East of England Ambulance Service dealt with the victim, and Essex Police have launched an investigation.

Detective Sergeant Sandy Kelleher said: “The victim of this incident was left with serious injuries. I am sure this was traumatic for them and anyone in the pub that witnessed the attack.

“I’d like to thank all those who have already come forward to help us, and we believe there may be more people with information that will help us establish the facts of this case.
