Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault on the M11 during which a man sustained injuries to his arm.

It happened shortly before 8am on Tuesday 26 April and involved the driver of a grey Nissan and the driver of a black BMW.

The two men were arguing on the hard shoulder of the northbound M11, close to Chigwell, when the driver of the Nissan was assaulted. The man's arm injuries required hospital treatment, but were not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH and criminal damage. He has since been released under investigation.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has any dashcam footage of it to get in touch by calling 101.
