Liel Abada has completed a permanent move from Celtic to Charlotte FC.

The 22-year-old has only made six appearances in the past five months.

Earlier this year, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said it was "challenging" for Abada to produce his best form with concerns for his family during the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Rodgers said it was a "possibility" that he might have to leave the club.

Abada's family are currently living in Israel, whilst many Celtic fans have demonstrated their support for Palestine in recent months.

The winger was signed in 2021 for £3.5m from Maccabi Petah Tikva and impressed under boss Ange Postecoglou.

He spent two-and-a-half season at Parkhead, scoring 29 goals in 107 appearances.

Abada won five trophies during his time in Glasgow and was a key part of last season's treble winning team, scoring in the Scottish Cup final.
