Brendan Rodgers will be in the dugout at Ibrox for next month's Old Firm following his Scottish FA disciplinary hearing.

The Celtic boss was facing a two-match suspension for questioning the competency of referee John Beaton after a 2-0 loss to Hearts.

Rodgers pleaded his case at Thursday's hearing, with the outcome a one-match ban and another suspended.

The Northern Irishman will be in the stand for Sunday's league game at Livingston.

He had initially been found guilty of breaching rule 72 of the SFA's disciplinary code, which prohibits managers from criticising officials' decisions and implying bias.

It came after the Parkhead side's defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle where Yang Hyun-Jun was sent off and a penalty was awarded for handball against Tomoki Iwata.

In a post-match interview, Rodgers said: "I try to respect decisions and give the benefit of the doubt. But I think when I see that level of incompetence is the only word I can use, then that makes me worry for the game.

"In such a tight title race, which it is and it’s fantastic and great to be involved in, that can make the difference. And that today made the difference for us."

Celtic are currently one point ahead Rangers at the top league, although Philippe Clement's side have one game in hand.
