Man who died in North Ayrshire crash named as Derek Logan

His family and friends have asked for privacy

A man who died in a crash on the A737 south of Beith just five days before Christmas has been named by police.

He was 46-year-old Derek Logan from the North Ayrshire area.

The incident happened around 10.45pm on the 20th of December, and Mr Logan was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a Land Rover.

Officers say that an investigation is ongoing.

Road Policing Sergeant Brian Simpson said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Logan’s family and friends at this difficult time and they have asked for privacy.

“We are continuing to appeal for information and anyone who can assist, particularly if you have dash-cam footage, is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3948 of Wednesday, 20 December, 2023.”
