Further arrests made after Dumbarton rioting

It follows large-scale unrest in the town on Friday 17th March

Another three people have been arrested following an investigation into large-scale disorder in Dumbarton on Friday, 17 March.

Yesterday, officers in Clydebank detained a 31-year-old man who was later charged in connection with mobbing and rioting.

He was due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court yesterday.

Two people were arrested today, (Friday, 24 March) following a police operation.

Around 7.30am, officers attended at a property in Brucehill, Dumbarton and arrested a 71 year-old man.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested from a separate address in Brucehill.

Both have been charged in connection with mobbing and rioting and are due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday, 27 March.

The incident occurred around 6.50pm on Tuesday, 28 February, 2023 when police responded to reports of disorder on Graham Road in Brucehill.

Additional officers remain in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.
