Rangers are closing in on their first January signing after agreeing a loan deal for Wolves striker Fabio Silva.

Philippe Clement is keen to strengthen his forward line after injuries to Danilo and Kemar Roofe.

According to various reports, the Ibrox side have agreed a deal to bring the Portuguese forward in on a deal until the end of the season.

The 21-year old has struggled to pin down a regular spot for the Premier League side after a huge £35million move in 2020.

However, he found form during loan spells at both Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven last campaign - scoring 16 goals in total.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims Philippe Clement and new director or football recruitment Nils Koppen have been key to making the deal happen.

Koppen moved to Govan this month from PSV Eindhoven - where Silva spent half of last season on loan.

Romano also reports there will be no buy out clause included in the deal.

Silva also hinted on social media on Thursday afternoon that a move could be pending by posting the egg timer emoji.
