Rangers will face Benfica in the Europa League round of 16.

The Ibrox side skipped the play-off round and sealed their spot in the draw after finishing top of their group.

A dramatic 3-2 win over Real Betis in Spain secured knockout football with Philippe Clement's side still fighting in all competitions.

The Ibrox side are scheduled to be away in the first leg on March 7 before the return fixture a week later.

Benfica currently sit top of the Portuguese top flight, level on points with Sporting CP who have a game in hand.

The Lisbon based side scraped past Toulouse in the play-off round, securing a 2-1 win at home before a 0-0 draw in France on Thursday night.

They dropped down from the Champions League where they finished third in a group with Real Sociedad, Inter Milan and Red Bull Salzburg.

The Eagles lost their first four matches before finishing up with a draw at home to Inter and a win away in Salzburg.

Angel Di Maria and Nicolas Otamendi are among the household names they boast in their squad.

The sides last faced each other in the group stages of the Europa League in the 2020/21 season.

Scott Arfield and Kemar Roofe scored in a 2-2 draw in Glasgow.

The return match was a 3-3 draw with Glen Kamara and Alfredo Morelos both bagging a goal each.
