Rail services through Glasgow disrupted as lorry hits bridge
It happened during this morning's rush hour between Shettleston and Carntyne
Train services through Glasgow were affected this morning after a lorry hit a railway bridge.
It happened on Cartnynehall Road in Shettleston around shortly before 9 o'clock this morning.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.45am on Friday, 29 March 2024, police were called to a report that a lorry had struck the railway bridge on Cartnynehall Road, Shettleston, Glasgow.
"Police and emergency services attended and the male driver of the lorry was taken to hospital.
“Carntynehall Road, between Old Shettleston Road and Cardowan Road, is now open.
“Enquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.”
ScotRail says trains are now running again after a bridge inspection but delays are still likely.
