Woman dies in Coatbridge fire
Emergency services were called to Laird Street shortly before 8pm yesterday
A woman has died following a fire in Coatbridge.
The blaze broke out at a property in the Laird Street area of the town around 7.45pm yesterday (31 January).
Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
The 63-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and next of kin have been made aware.
Her family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time.
A joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is ongoing to establish the full circumstances. However, there are no apparent suspicious circumstances at this time.
