Appeal for witnesses to fatal collision in Gloucester

A 41-year-old man from the city died following the incident yesterday

Police officers are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision which took place in Gloucester last night, Friday 29 April.

Police were called to Eastbrook Road in the city shortly before 7pm following a report of a serious collision.

The collision, which took place near to KFC on Metz Way, involved a blue Nissan Micra and man riding a bicycle.

The cyclist, a 41-year-old man from Gloucester, was treated at the scene but sadly passed away. His next of kin are aware and being supported by specially trained officers.

Police would like to express their thanks to a group of off-duty doctors who happened to be close by and tried to save the man’s life.

The road was closed whilst a collision investigation took place and reopened shortly before 4am this morning (30 April).

Officers investigating the collision would like to hear from anyone who has not already spoken to police and has information they feel may be relevant.

Anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage is also asked to make contact.
