CCTV appeal after assault in Cheltenham

Footage showed a man stamping on the victim before running away.

A 19 year-old man's been arrested - after a man was assaulted in Cheltenham.

It happened around 3.40am on Saturday on the Promenade - when CCTV footage showed a man stamping on the victim before running away.

Police are now looking to trace the victim, who left the scene before officers arrived.

The man who was arrested has been released under investigation.

The victim was described as being white, approximately six foot tall and had short blonde hair. He was wearing a black top and trousers and had a flower necklace on.
