Cheltenham Racecourse could be transformed into a mass Covid-19 vaccination centre Gloucestershire residents.

The Jockey Club - who owns the course - says its working with the NHS to set it up.

It has not been confirmed whether the entire racecourse, or just part of it, will be used as a mass vaccination centre.

Greatest Hits radio have approached NHS England for comment and has been asked to confirm it it is true, as well as how many people will be vaccinated each day.

If reports are true, it's unknown if it would impact upcoming race meetings until late March, including the Cheltenham Festival - one of the biggest events in the sport's calendar.

Cheltenham Racecourse's auditoria, The Cenataur, is one of the largest of its kind in the South West region, holding more than 2,000 seats for conferences and space for around 4,000 people standing.
