Man dies after being hit by a car in Cheltenham

A man in his 80s has died after he was hit by a car outside of Prezzo in Cheltenham.

An 82-year-old man was rushed to Southmead Hospital after the incident on the Promenade 9.50am on Tuesday (23/01).

He suffered serious head injuries and died later that evening.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

They said in a statement: “An 82-year-old man has died following a collision in Cheltenham earlier this week.

“Emergency services were called at around 9.50am on Tuesday (23 January) with a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car outside Prezzo on the Promenade.

“The pedestrian was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he was treated for serious head injuries. He died later that evening.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police is asked to submit information by completing the following online form quoting incident 106 of 23 January: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report”
