Three charged after armed police attend 'violent incident' at a Gloucester shop

Two men sustained 'non-life-threatening' head injuries

Three man have been charged in connection with a violent incident at a shop in Worcester Street, Gloucester on Wednesday.

Mohammed Kadieri, 23 and of unknown address and Arman Miran, 28 and from London, were both charged with violent disorder and criminal damage. Korsrat Hamad, 32 and from Gloucester, was charged with violent disorder, criminal damage, section 18 wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and making threats to kill.

They were all remanded in police custody to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court.

A fourth man who was arrested was released on police bail until a later date, pending further enquiries.

Police were called to the shop shortly before 7.15pm on Wednesday after a report of an assault involving weapons.

Armed officers attended the scene and made the arrests.

Two men sustained head injuries that were not life threatening in the incident and were later discharged from hospital.

Chief Inspector for the area Rob Lawton said: "Our detectives, proactive and uniformed officers have been working tirelessly in recent days.

"I hope the community is reassured that we are taking swift action in connection with this incident and others in the area.

"We know local people may have seen the aftermath of what happened here and I would appeal to them to seek support if needed or approach one of our officers if they wish to raise any concerns or report something.

"We have patrols taking place over the next few days involving uniformed officers and I hope people will have the confidence to approach us if needed."
