The Lionesses are on their way home from Australia after just missing out in the World Cup final.

Messages of support are pouring in for the England squad, following their 1-0 defeat to Spain - but it's hoped their success in the tournament is inspiring a new generation of fans.

Meanwhile, tere are calls for the newly refurbed leisure centre in Harrogate to be named in honour of Lioness Rachel Daly.

Mary Beggs Reid is from Killinghall Nomads Juniors Club where Daly first started playing - and wants it renamed the "Hydro Daly".

She says the whole team deserve to be recognised: "I think the women's football and what the Lionesses have done is really pioneering for all the young girls and boys in grassroots football, it's amazing their achievement."

She wants to start a campaign: "My suggestion was the Hydro hasn't opened yet, maybe name the Hydro after her, the "Daly Hydro", I definitely think it's shocking they haven't done anything yet because she has inspired a whole nation and she's from our little Town, we should really celebrate that."

Following the World cup success the club are expecting another influx of young girls wanting to play: "The amount of girls we have now applying is just unbelievable and it's just lovely and wonderful to see, it's amazing in that these Lionesses have given these girls dreams and hopes that one day, that could be them."
