A woman from Harrogate whose mum is in a care home has told us how amazing it was to see her after ten weeks.

We first brought you Anna McIntee's story last week as changes to visiting restrictions meant she couldn't see her 75-year-old mum, Margaret, who has dementia.

Anna and her family were worried if they went too long without seeing her, she might forget who they are.

The home she's in didn't allow window visits, but they've since performed a u-turn, meaning Anna and her dad could go and visit her.

She told Greatest Hits: "Her face when she saw us was just absolutely incredible. It was so emotional. We cried when we saw her and then we laughed cause she was so happy.

"Everyone who is campaigning to see their families please keep going. It just made it all worthwhile after ten weeks of not seeing each other."

Anna and her family were originally able to visit her mum twice a week, but as coronavirus cases in West Yorkshire started to rise, Margaret's Dewsbury care home decided to stop visits completely.

She wrote to her local MP, Andrew Jones, who brought up the issue in Parliament. He also wrote to Kirklees Council in hopes of getting the care home to change their stance.

Anna was then contacted on Tuesday by the care home to say they would resume window visits.
