Year 11 pupils at Harrogate Grammar School have been sent home to self-isolate for two weeks.

It's after eight positive Covid-19 cases among pupils in the year group.

The students, who were meant to be sitting their mock GCSE exams, are taking most of the exams at home instead. They will use iPads provided by the school to complete the exams. They will take the English, Science and Maths assessments when they return to school.

The school said they would also have the chance to re-sit the mock exams in March.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Harrogate Garmmar School said: "Students will take the majority of the mock exams at home, using the iPads. They will upload their exam result into a folder."

The school said that its priority was the health and safety of pupils and staff.
