Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust have donated more than half a dozen laptops to people across the community.

They've passed 26 devices on to local company Phase 4 Computers, who will distribute them to schools and care homes across the district.

A spokesperson for the Trust, said: "We are really pleased to have recently donated 26 laptops to local schools and care homes.

"Thanks to the hard work of Stuart Wilson, IT Support Team Leader, and Clem Bloomfield, Windows 10 Project Lead, the laptops which no longer met our needs were thoroughly assessed, cleansed (purged of all data) and updated. They were then handed over to Harrogate-based IT company Phase 4 Computers, who had recently been contacted by local institutions in need of more laptops.

"This kit will now continue to be used in the local area to improve learning and resources for those who might otherwise not have access to such technology."

Clem Bloomfield, Windows 10 Project Lead, said: “We were keen to make the best use of these laptops which we can no longer use at the Trust and making them fit for purpose in the community seemed like a really good solution. Hopefully they will make a big difference to the schools and care homes they are sent to. We want to send our thanks to Phase 4 Computers for their help getting them out to these places.”
