Six teenagers cause damage to Spofforth school

The teens attempted to break into the school over the weekend

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a group of teenagers tried to break into a Spofforth school.

Six teenagers attempted to gain entry to Spofforth Church of England Primary School on Saturday 5 March at around 5pm but were unsuccessful.

They then broke into the school's equipment shed and stole several items of equipment and caused damage to the property also.

We are appealing for witnesses and information about a burglary that occurred in Spofforth.

Five of the suspects are described as teenage boys and the sixth a teenage girl.

In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said:

"We are requesting the public’s assistance to help identify suspects in relation to the incident. Five of the suspects have been described as teenage boys and one of the suspects has been described as a teenage girl.

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for PC Fleming."
