It has been announced that North Yorkshire has been categorised as Tier 2 in the latest government restrictions.

Under those measures, fans will be allowed to watch sport with a maximum crowd capacity outdoors of 50% or 2,000 people.

It's great news for Harrogate Town and its supporters.

The club is now looking at ways to invite fans safely back to the ground while still being covid compliant.

In a statement, club bosses have said they will be providing information about fans returning as soon as possible.

Managing Director Garry Plant said:

“We’re really looking forward to crowds filling the EnviroVent Stadium again, we’ve got a lot of hoops to jump through with all the authorities we have to get signed off which is going to be a bulk of work.”

“We are going to have to socially distance so have to do all the calculations around that, we must look after staff, players and supporters and as eager as we all are to get some noise back in the stadium we are keen to make sure we do everything correctly.”
