The family of three teenagers who died in a crash in North Yorkshire at the weekend have paid tribute to them.

They've been named as 18-year-old Aaron Bell from Jervaulx, 18-year-old Tommy Shevels and 17-year-old Louis Banks, who were both from Healey.

The car they were in was travelling on Masham Road near Thornton Watlass in Bedale when it was involved in a crash at around 11pm on Friday 29 July.

All three teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene- and an 18-year-old who was driving the car remains in hospital in a stable condition.

In a tribute, Aaron Bell's family have described his love of rugby, cricket and showing sheep, They say he was "the reason wehy we all smiled a little bigger and laughed a little harder."

Tommy Shevels has been described as "a wonderful son, big brother, grandson, nephew and cousin" and his family have thanked emergency services who attended the crash.

The family of Louis Banks said: “Louis made friends wherever he went, in school, playing rugby and through farming, and once he made a friend, he kept them.

"His amazing sense of humour was infectious, and you only had to look at his cheeky smiling face and you would soon be laughing with him."

Police continue appeal for information

Police investigating the crash in which the three teenagers died have continued an appeal for information, asking for CCTV or dashcam footage of the crash.

Sergeant Adam Elliott, from North Yorkshire Police said: “This was a tragic incident which has taken the life of three young men and our thoughts are with their family, friends, and the wider community at this incredibly sad time.

“The grey Alfa Romeo 147 made a number of journeys around Masham, Bedale and Leeming Bar areas, before it was involved in the collision at around 11pm on Friday 29 July on the B6268, Masham Road, near Thornton Watlass, Bedale."
