The countdown is officially on to the Worldwide Christmas Eve Jingle which started HERE in Harrogate.

Over 400,000 people are taking part across the globe – all thanks to Harrogate mum Mary Beggs-Reid.

She came up with the idea where people ring a bell on their doorstep on Christmas Eve to let Santa know Christmas isn't cancelled and that he still needs to come and visit.

Watch Mary and Harrogate residents doing a test run:

What started as a little idea from Mary has grown and spread throughout the land. It’s the ‘The Christmas Eve Jingle 2020’ and we’re asking if you can lend a hand?

It’s more important than ever that we come together to support each other and the communities that we love and live in.

That’s why we’ve decided to support The Christmas Eve Jingle 2020 and we’re asking you to stand side by side with us to create this magical moment so that we come together and bring Christmas in with style!

Let’s create a wave of bells with a bit of magic, hope and true Christmas spirit!

The Worldwide Christmas Eve Jingle is sponsored by Thirsk School and Sixth Form College.
