From 5:00 am this morning groups of Animal Rebellion supporters have stopped the fresh supply of dairy across a large area of England. Mostly affecting the Midlands the protestors have targeted four critical distribution areas : Area Aylesbury ( which produces 10% of the Uk's dairy produce), Muller Droitwich, Muller Severnside and Muller Bridgwater.

The action today is part of a campaign by Animal Rebellion launched in May , demanding the British Government consider their two demands; firstly to move away from animal farming and fishing and transition to a plant-based food system. And secondly, to consider mass rewilding to free up land and ocean.

The group stated that its supporters will continue non violent direct action until the Government consider their proposals. With reports of protestors climbing milk silos and onto distribution trucks. John Appleton, worked for Arla for six years and is part of the demonstration he said : " I've seen this industry first hand; I know the struggle for farmers and workers go through every single day. We need a food system that works for them, everyone else, and nonhuman animals. Governmental support for this is vital to tackle climate and ecological emergencies. We know the twin solutions; transition to a plant-based food system and a mass rewilding programme."
