Beryl e-bikes have been used over 90,000 times in Hereford this year.

Users travelled a total of 219,905 kilometres - that's the equivalent of travelling five times around the world.

Since launching in 2019, Beryl has enabled people to choose a sustainable, convenient and enjoyable mode of transport to travel around the city.

This year, the journeys taken by Beryl e-scooter have seen a model shift from journeys taken by car of 11.85%.

The positive impact of that on hereford include reducing congestion and air pollution, and encouraging people to cycle more.

A recent survey by Beryl found 68% of journeys taken in Hereford were for leisure and 62% of riders have been cycling more often since joining Beryl.

Phillip Ellis, Beryl CEO, said: ‘’We are delighted to see so many people in Hereford making use of our scheme, in what has been a very challenging year for everyone.

‘’The figures show that efficient and well delivered micromobility systems can quickly become a popular part of the local transport network, providing people with a wider choice of how they travel.

“By getting more people out of the car and using our bikes and scooters, Beryl will continue to play a key role in boosting public health and reducing traffic congestion as well as improving air quality and reducing carbon emissions.’’
