Princess Anne has visited a Worcester school as part of the Queen's Green Canopy scheme.

Her Royal Highness planted a tree at St Barnabas C Of E Primary. The tree is an Acer Autumn Blaze and has been planted next to the Worcestershire black pear that is already planted on site.

St Barnabas was selected to receive the tree, due to their long standing commitment to ensuring that every child develops an excellent understanding of their environmental responsibilities. So far, the school has been awarded eight consecutive Green Flag Eco Awards, the highest in Worcestershire.

The Green Canopy Scheme is a national tree planting scheme which will make the Queen's jubilee next year a lasting and green legacy. Trees can be planted from October through to the end of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.
