Man dies in Moray crash involving car and HGV

Three other people were taken to ARI for treatment

A man has died following a collision involving a car and a HGV near Craigellachie.

Three other people were also taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after yesterday's crash on the A941.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen the incident to get in touch.

Emergency services were called out at around 4:25pm, close to the junction with the A95.

A-56-year-old, who was a rear passenger in the Vauxhall Crossland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and two other passengers in the car were taken to hospital, while the Mercedes HGV driver was uninjured.

Investigations were carried out and the road fully re-opened earlier this morning.

Police Scotland are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident.

Road Policing Sergeant Iain Nicolson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and everyone involved in this incident.

“As our enquiries continue, I’d appeal to anyone with information to come forward. I’d be particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage of the area around the time.”
