More than one million Covid vaccine doses administered in Lancashire and South Cumbria

The number of coronavirus vaccine doses that have been administered across Lancashire and South Cumbria has surpassed one million.

876,749 first doses have been administered in the area, and the number of second doses is continuing to ramp up - at 178,324.

It comes as an estimated 94.3% of people aged 50 and over in England have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.

But there are variations - the figure's just under 86% in London, the lowest in the country.

Today, it was also revealed six million people across the UK have now had their second jab.
