Two men stabbed in Blackburn

An investigation is underway after two men were stabbed in Blackburn yesterday (Sunday 9th May).

Police were called to Corporation Park at around 11.30am to reports of men with weapons fighting.

Two men were found with injuries. One had suffered them to the head while the second had stab wounds to his arm chest and back.

Both men were taken to hospital for treatment.

Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made yet.

Detectives are appealing for information and urging anyone who witnessed the incident and has any information to come forward.

Det Ch Insp Derry Crorken, of Blackburn Police, said: “We have launched an investigation after two men were attacked in Corporation Park today.

“I understand this must have been very frightening and concerning for many people who were in the park at the time and I want to reassure residents we are doing everything possible to arrest those responsible.

“This is being treated as very much an isolated incident and patrols have been increased in the area.

“If you can help our investigation, in particular any information about the offenders involved in the attack, please call 101 immediately quoting log 0519 of May 9.”
