Extra 8 months in jail for man who absconded from an open prison in Boston

A convicted sex offender who sparked a nationwide manhunt after he absconded from North sea camp open prison in Boston has been given an extra 8 months in jail.

56 year old Paul Robson was handed a life sentence in 2000 for indecent assault and attempted rape.

He disappeared from the prison early on Sunday February 13th after climbing out of the window leaving a makeshift dummy in his bed.

He was recaptured 4 days later in Skegness.

At Lincoln Crown Court he pleaded guilty to escaping, with the 8 month jail term running alongside his current life sentence.
