Urgent treatment centre to replace Grantham Hospital's A&E
The UTC is expected to be fully operational within 12 to 18 months
Health bosses say the vast majority of patients who would have visited Grantham A & E can be adequately dealt with at the urgent treatment centre which will replace it.
This afternoon they've made the decision to make the switch at the hospital.
The department hasn't been open 24 hours for some years but has been seeing patients during daylight hours, the treatment centre will be round the clock.
Campaigners have said they feel only a full service would properly serve the needs of local people.
The meeting also decided to centralise stroke services in Lincoln and will no longer be provided at Boston
