Man charged with murder in north London

A man will appear in court charged with a murder in Tottenham.

28 year old Leandro Kaienga of no fixed abode will appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 24 April charged with the murder of 46-year-old Okechukwu Iweha.

He was also charged with possession of a knife.

Kaienga was arrested by detectives on Monday, 22 April.

A murder investigation was launched after police were called at 05:51hrs on Sunday, 7 April to Worcester Avenue, junction with Northumberland Park N17, after a man was found unresponsive.

Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics. On arrival they found Okechukwu suffering stab injuries. CPR was administered but despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Okechukwu’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
