Music legend Paul McCartney has announced he will be bringing his 'Freshen Up' tour to the UK, beginning in his home city of Liverpool on the 12th December, before moving onto Glasgow and London. The announcement was made on social media saying, 'Paul announces first UK dates of his new #FreshenUpTour. Full details HERE'.

Speaking about his upcoming tour Paul said, “There’s nothing like performing in front of your home crowd, especially when it’s been a while. I can’t wait to finish the year on such a high by partying in Liverpool, Glasgow and London. We’ve freshened up the show since our last time round and we are excited to get to play some of our new songs alongside some of the favourites.”

Sir Paul is set to perform hits from The Beatles, Wings and his fantastic solo material during his show which is expected to last for nearly three hours.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Monday 16th July and they will be available to buy from Aloud.com

The announcement of 'Freshen Up' comes as the former Beatles guitarist is also due to release a new album later this year called 'Egypt Station'. Sir Paul discussed 'Egypt Station' in a recent episode of Carpool Karaoke when he joined James Corden driving around the streets of Liverpool.

After much teasing the full video of their Carpool Karaoke dropped a couple of weeks ago and it was very emotional to watch. The video starts with James in the driving seat as he says the lyrics from the Beatles' infamous song 'Help'. "I need somebody, not just anybody," says James, then Sir Paul gets into the passenger seat and offers to show James around Liverpool. Before long the pair are singing along to 'Drive My Car', as the camera shows Sir Paul taking to the wheel at one point.
