CCTV shows robber threaten shopkeeper with suspected gun in Manchester

Police are appealing for information after the offender ran away with a wad cash from the till

Police are continuing to appeal for information after a shop assistant was threatened with what appears to be a firearm in Manchester.

At around 2.30pm on Wednesday 22 May 2019, police were called to reports of an armed robbery at Pound Island, Kingsway.

The offender – holding what appeared to be a firearm - entered the store and threatened the shop keeper, threatening him and demanding money.

The man is described as Asian and in his mid-30s. He is believed to be around 5ft 11 inches tall and of a large build.

At the time of the incident he was wearing dark gloves, a dark green hip-length coat, dark tracksuit bottoms with white lines down the legs and dark trainers with a white sole.

He ran away with a wad of cash from the till.

Detectives have now released further CCTV and are appealing for the public’s help for information.
