Cromer Minor Injuries Unit has reopened today (29 March) as part of the restoration of services at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

It comes after the Cromer team, including ten Emergency Nurse Practitioners, were redeployed to support the Emergency Department at NNUH during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic in January.

Alice Richardson, Emergency Department Matron, praised the MIU team for their support and flexibility during the most challenging period of the pandemic.

She said:

"It has been amazing to have the Cromer MIU team with us to cover all our Emergency Nurse Practitioner service and we have not had to supply a doctor to the minor injuries area at NNUH. They have also been helping with triage and initial assessment. They have been working in their scope of practice working in a different environment and have adapted really well. They are all really excited to be getting back to Cromer and reopening the MIU."
