Deer trapped in netting rescued from Wisbech field

Members of the public found it in a ditch near a football field.

A deer in Wisbech that spent the night trapped in a ditch in Wisbech has been rescued!

Fire crews from were called to an animal in water on Beechings Close in Wisbech St Mary at around 7.40am on Sunday (21st April)

Members of the public met the crews and showed them to where the deer was stuck.

The crews arrived to find a deer trapped in a water filled ditch, whilst also entangled in netting.

The fire service manage to cut the net to free the deer and covered it wit ha piece of sheeting to allow them to carry it back into the field to release it to safety.
