Norfolk Police have put a police cordon in place following the discovery of a body in Great Yarmouth.

Officers found the body of a woman when they responded to an incident on Princes Road in the town on Saturday morning (January 20th).

First responders arrived at the scene soon after 9:10am after receiving reports that the body of a woman was inside.

Upon entering the property, police found that the woman, who was believed to be in her 30s, had already passed away.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and was taken to the Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, where he continues to be questioned.

Speaking about the case, Detective Inspector Alix Wright confirmed a police investigation was underway as they try to piece together the events leading up to the woman's death.

"We are in the very early stages of this investigation and are currently working to understand the sequence of events which has led to this woman’s death," Wright said.
