Officers have charged a man in connection with burglary and attempted burglary in Norwich.

It follows a report of burglary and another of attempted burglary of two properties on Newmarket Road, which occurred shortly after 5pm on Monday 12 February 2024.

Officers were patrolling Newmarket Road yesterday (Tuesday 13 February), when they spotted a man who was wanted in connection with the burglary offences.

A man in his 50s was arrested at 4.40pm on suspicion of burglary and attempted burglary and found to be in possession of a torch, snippers and gloves.

He was further arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Joel Lawrence, aged 51 and of William Kett Close, Norwich was charged with burglary, attempted burglary, going equipped for burglary and refusing to provide a sample for a class A drug test.
