Dereham's Mid Norfolk Railway is to reopen in June, alongside the easing of the government's coronavirus restrictions.

It comes after a long period of pandemic enforced closure, which saw events in 2020 and earlier this year cancelled.

Visitors will be allowed back into the attraction from the 23rd of June, before a 'Grand Reopening' over the weekend of the 26th and 27th of June.

Initially trains will leave from Dereham and will run non stop to Wymondham Abbey Halt where passengers can leave the train to see the engine, before taking the return journey.

Several special events are also planned, including the visit of the Flying Scotsman in October.

The first big event this year will be the return of the popular 1940s weekend on the 7th and 8th of August.

Due to coronavirus restrictions the events will currently be for those who've booked tickets in advance.
