A-level students across Norfolk and Suffolk will be getting their results this morning - with many finding out which University they'll be going to next month.

Staff at the UEA in Norwich will today be helping to deliver the good news to many, while also manning the phone-lines for 'clearing' - where those who don't have an offer, have a chance to get on their preferred course.

"Universities will be understanding about that"

Charles Seager is Associate Dean for Admissions our university: "Grades will probably look more like they did in 2019 or so, across the board.

"But we understand that with the disruption that students have had over the last two years with Covid and missing exams previously, Universities will be understanding about that at the admissions and clearing process.

"It has been difficult over the past two years. Last year we had the teacher assessed grades and adjustments to that- I think it was difficult for both universities and students."

"I think we are going to have a lot of positive outcomes"

Mr Seager told us that he and his colleagues are ready for what's to come: "We probably have hundreds of people doing various jobs related to confirmation and clearing.

"Our offer holders will have their results on Thursday and we'll be ready to open the clearing lines and to give offers. I think it's going to be a good week and I think we are going to have a lot of positive outcomes."

T Levels awarded for the first time

Around 1000 students have also received T Level results for the first time. T Levels are a new technical qualification to help young people progress onto skilled employment, university or apprenticeships.

It combines study with a substantial industry placement so that students gain the skills and valuable workplace experience they need to progress into a job, further study or an apprenticeship.

Education Secretary, James Cleverly said: "Today is also a really exciting time for our pioneering T Level students, as the first ever group to take this qualification will pick up their results. I have no doubt they will be the first of many and embark on successful careers."
