Appeal following serious crash in Gorleston

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Gorleston.

The incident, involving a silver Ford Focus, a white and blue Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle and a pedestrian, occurred on Church Lane at 10.03am on Thursday 18 April.

The road was closed in both directions from Church Road to the junction with Magdalen Way while officers conducted their investigation.

The motorcycle rider, a man in his 20s, was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries, where he remains.

The pedestrian, a teenager, was taken by land ambulance to Gorleston’s JPUH with serious injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries.

A fourth person who was not directly involved in the collision was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by air ambulance having suffered a coronary medical episode. They remain in hospital.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, specifically the manner of driving of both the Ford Focus and Suzuki motorcycle prior to the collision. Anyone with any information or any relevant dashcam footage is asked to get in touch with police.
